
The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) 2007 program is for individuals seeking to validate the proficiency of their desktop computing skills by passing a certification exam in one or more of Microsoft's 2007 Office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Access).
MOS 2007 is an evolution of Microsoft 2003 which goes beyond its desktop functions. The MOS 2007 program is offered online through VEINC Online Institute, Fast Track in a one-day format, or over twelve-weeks.
Funding for the MOS 2007 or other training programs maybe available through the WIA Individual Training Accounts (ITA). Please contact your Local Workforce Investment Board - One Stop Career Center to learn your eligibility and how to secure WIA funding for training.
Note: The MOS 2007 program is only available under contract in the State of Maryland.
MOS 2007 Online - Is a 12-week online training program made possible through our partnership with the JER Group, Inc. to prepare individuals to become a Microsoft Office Specialist in 2007 or IC3 professional. Next training session starts August 4. To learn more, click here.
Mobile Employment and Technology Training (METT) - Equips homeless women return to economic independence through life, employment, technology and career development training services. To ensure that childcare and transportation barriers do not create obstacles for METT participants, training is provided with laptop computers.
Savvy Tech Girls - A program designed to increase the percentage of women college graduates in computer science, engineering, and computer information systems. The goal of Savvy Tech Girls is to (1) help technologically challenged girls build confidence, self-esteem, and a positive vision for their future in technology, (2) help them learn and integrate technology into their daily lives, (3) to strengthen girls' ability to succeed and/or excel in math and science with mentoring and tutorial assistance, and (4) orient girls in the technology discipline and profession to maximize their learning and interest in technology or engineering careers. The program is offered as a an after-school program, summer camp, and Saturday Boot Camp.
Starting Over for Economic Independence (SOFEI) - Is an entrepreneur program that prepares low-income single mothers to launch or expand their business through training and development, mentoring and coaching, technical assistance, and mini-grants.
VoicesUnheard - Is a leadership development and mentoring program for girls in foster care of in Prince George's County, Maryland. The program's purpose is to help teenage girls transform into powerful leaders, change agents, and women through training, mentoring, counseling, and moral support. Enrollment will begin in the Fall of 2010.
